Steve Jobs Book - The official autobiography of American business mogul and Apple co-founder Steve Jobs is named Steve Jobs. Walter Isaacson, a former executive at CNN and TIME who had previously written best-selling biographies of Benjamin Franklin and Albert Einstein, was commissioned by Jobs to write the book.
Isaacson had "unprecedented" access to Jobs's life thanks to more than forty in-depth interviews with him over a two-year period, along with more than a hundred with his friends, family, foes, and coworkers.
19 days after Jobs's passing, on October 24, 2011, Simon and Schuster published the book in the United States.

The photograph used as the book's cover was previously taken by Norman Seeff and published on Rolling Stone.
front page
The front cover has a photograph of Steve Jobs that Fortune magazine ordered in 2006 for a collection of influential people. Photographer Albert Watson took the image.
He claimed that he insisted on three hours of setup time before the photo was taken because he wanted to make "[every shoot] as greased lightning fast as possible for the [subject]."
When Jobs first arrived, he didn't look at Watson right away; instead, he looked at the tools, concentrating on Watson's 45 camera before exclaiming, "Wow, you're shooting film."
Steve Jobs Book Reception and Review | Positive and Negative Criticism
The New York Times book review by Janet Maslin included both positive and constructive criticism. Isaacson's biography, according to Maslin, provided "an encyclopedic survey of all that Mr. Jobs accomplished, replete with the passion and excitement that it deserves."
Many members of Steve Jobs's family and close associates, like as Laurene Powell Jobs, Tim Cook, and Jony Ive, voiced their dissatisfaction. Cook said the biography did Jobs "a tremendous disservice" and "didn't capture the person." I would never have wanted to work with the person I read about there over all these years. I've expressed my disdain for the book as "my contempt couldn't be lower."
Over three million copies of the biography were sold in the US, making it a major commercial success.
