The Apache HTTP Server, MariaDB database, and interpreters for scripts written in the PHP and Perl programming languages are the core components of XAMPP, a free and open-source cross-platform web server solution
stack bundle created by Apache Friends. It is possible to switch from a local test server to a live server because the majority of real-world web server deployments employ the same components as XAMPP.
XAMPP's simplicity of deployment means a WAMP or LAMP stack may be installed fast and simply on an operating system by a developer, with the advantage that common add-in programs such as
WordPress and Joomla! can also be installed with comparable ease using Bitnami.

Download XAMPP Server from https://www.apachefriends.org. XAMPP is a one click download installation package. So you don't need to install
Apache server, and php, plus MYSQL or Pearl or PHPMyAdmin seperately. It's all done in one swoop. This saves a ton of time and configuration.
The goal is to to run all of them for a server on your Microsoft PC or Mac OS to run with a fully functioning server! It's pretty neat for creating a sandbox where you can make your updates,
do your Github backups or Filezila. Then push your website live to a paid shared server, virtual managed server such as digitalocean or Amazon AWS, and finally a really expensive dedicated
server that you can manage only your website on.

After you download XAMPP (Hurray!), navigate to the XAMPP folder on your C:/ directory. Then click on the htdocs folder. You'll be doing most your work here. Delete the uneccesary files in the htdocs folder to bein with.
